Sara Syverhus grew up 6 miles from the Canadian border in a small town called Warroad, far away from big cities. She graduated from Bemidji State University in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in fine art. Eventually she worked her way down to Minneapolis and that is where she now lives at age 25. She feels very inspired by the city, although the mystery and beauty of the natural world will always be ingrained in her work. She enjoys painting, listening to music, swimming in lakes, drinking wine,  hiking in the woods at night, and living the bohemian lifestyle.
